Felon On Probation Caught With Drugs After Lancaster Chase: Police

A felon on probation was found with drugs and cash after leading police on a chase through Lancaster Township on Saturday, Jan. 18, authorities announced.

Debron A. McCain fled officers attempting to stop him for a traffic violation near Wabank Street and Comet Drive at approximately 12:41 p.m., Lancaster Township police said in a release. The 30-year-old drove west into Millersville Borough, where officers cornered his vehicle.

McCain then fled on foot but was subdued with a Taser, police said. A search of his vehicle uncovered a significant quantity of controlled substances and nearly $2,000 in small bills, authorities said.

McCain, who was on probation for a prior felony drug conviction, faces several charges, including:

  • Felony Possession With Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance
  • Misdemeanor Fleeing or Attempting to Elude Police
  • Misdemeanor Resisting Arrest
  • Misdemeanor Possession of a Controlled Substance
  • Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Summary traffic offenses

McCain was held at Lancaster County Prison on $100,000 bail, court records show. His preliminary hearing is set for 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 24, before District Judge Mary Mongiovi Sponaugle.

Police credited the Millersville Borough and Millersville University Police Departments for their assistance in the case.
